Meet Kenzie! A #WashU25 student who exemplifies the spirit of exploration and curiosity. As a self-described outdoors enthusiast, she's always been drawn to the wonders of the natural world.

Her journey into the world of science began when she was little. In middle school, she received her very first telescope, sparking a fascination with the mysteries of the night sky, including the ever-illuminating Orion's Belt.

Originally a chemistry major, Kenzie soon realized she desired a more interconnected approach, one that could seamlessly blend her passions. This led her to pursue planetary science, complemented by a minor in biology.

As part of the WashU NIH MARC and uMARC (Maximizing Access to Research Careers Undergraduate Student Training in Academic Research) research scholar programs, she's delved into groundbreaking research. Over the summer as a Caltech WAVE Fellow, she worked with the Ehlmann Lab, conducting chemical analyses for a spectral library of minerals from the Oman Drill Core Project, shedding light on serpentinization processes crucial for understanding planetary bodies. She is also an Observatory Assistant at Crow.

Driven by the fact that so much of the solar system is unexplored, postgraduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. In the meantime, she is a part of the Middle Eastern and North African society, TEDx, and this year, she will study abroad in Dublin, Ireland.

Where does she see herself in 10 years? Perhaps NASA (she's already interned at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory)...but the sky is the limit.
