## Caption

NEVER do this in your captions. 🚫✋

Okay coaches, we should discuss what NOT to use for captions. I’ve seen a lot of social media posts. Some are good while others need some work. But there are a few important tips that you should remember when writing your captions.

1. Using website links! (only Instagram)

I get it. You want to share your link but inserting it in the caption is not the way to do it. Why? Because first, you’re not able to click on it. Someone has to copy and paste it on the URL browser, and no one has time for that. Second, it just looks a little spammy and messy. 

2. Emoji Overkill...

Oof this is a big one. I mean emojis are great to use for engaging but please don’t overdo it. Having too many emojis can be distracting and take the eyes of the viewers away from your actual message.

3. Using Ai without your tone of voice

Ai is great to use when writing captions but you need to remember one thing. Ai is not YOU. It may give great content but if the caption doesn’t sound like you the audience is not going to feel comfortable engaging and reaching out to you.

4. Boring Hooks

I’ve discussed this before, but if you watched the beginning of a movie that was boring, chances are you probably are not going to watch the whole thing. The same thing goes with captions. If you want the audience to read your entire caption then insert a hook that will grab the audience’s attention. If you need some specific examples check out my other posts about hooks.

5. Not including a caption

Wait what? Yeah, you read that right. The worst type of caption is no caption. I’ve seen them. If there is no caption to your reel or image how will people understand what you’re talking about? How will people engage with you when there is no context? If you don’t know what to say just leave it, and think about it some more.
