Acrylic on wood with resin

“Did it for my lil bro, just to show him one day you could,
I did this for my mama ‘cause I told her one day I would”

December 16, 2020: I sent The Kid Laroi a DM on Instagram telling him that I wanted to do an art project with him. Two years later we made it happen.

This is pure, unadulterated manifestation. One of my top 3 Spotify artists and favorite rappers of all time! I’m taking this art thing to new heights I never even dreamed about.

Finally got to work on my first custom cut wood piece. I’ve always thought I got my artist’s hands from my grandparents. I grew up painting with my grandmother and hanging around my grandfather’s wood shop, so it’s amazing to see it come full circle.

This is easily my most creatively ambitious project. I cut the wood piece, sealed it, painted it, and then finished it off with resin. I painted for 160+ hours over 15 days, 26 hours in a row near the end. I pushed myself to my limits physically, mentally, and emotionally and learned so much about myself in the process.

The evolution is so beautiful— both as an artist and as a human being. It’s impossible to sum up what this means to me in a few paragraphs, but I’m so grateful for all the support. Scratch another one off the bucket list, but we’re just getting started!

Shout out to thekidlaroi and his team. One of the absolute superstars in the music game.
