In 1895, James Walker Tufts bought 5,500 acres of land in North Carolina for just under $7,000. By 1907, Pinehurst No. 2 was completed by Donald Ross, which has hosted several major tournaments and consistently been ranked as one of the top courses in North Carolina and among the best in the United States. 

In 2024, the US Open returns to Pinehurst after they were named the first-ever U.S. Open Anchor Site, chosen to host the championships planned for 2024, 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047! ⚓️
