“All of us sitting here can bear witness to the goodness God has given us,” Assistant to the President Fr. Richard Zanoni, S.J., said Thursday near the close of his homily during our Mass for the North American Martyrs. 

“And I must say, I fully expect to find in this crowd, as I have over the years in this auditorium, a young man or two or more ... young men of extraordinary, exceptional, exemplary witness for good, right here, among us.”

Fr. Zanoni told the story of the North American Martyrs in his homily, as well as the tale of a former CHS student who made an impact on him. His entire homily is at our Facebook page. 

Many students participated in the Mass, including Stephen Sorrels ’24 (first reading), Aaron Eberhard ’24 (Responsorial Psalm), Clarence Funderburg ’24 and Peter Kooshoian ’24 (Prayer of the Faithful), Kellen Palmer '24 (crossbearer), Colton Schoenberger ’24 and Liam O’Keefe ’24 (candlebearers) and Matthew Bernard ’24, Colby Cihak ’24, Matthew Hassenfratz ’24, James Sutton ’24 and Ryan Stravino ’24 (Eucharistic Ministers).

The chorus performed as did our guitar ensemble, string ensemble and handbells ensemble.

Concelebrants of the Mass were President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J.; Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Chuck Frederico, S.J.; Campus Minister Fr. Michael Corcoran, S.J. '76; and Assistant to the Principal Fr. Edward Durkin, S.J.
