#WeSaluteWednesday feature of T5 Louis Stanley Conners! Louis Stanley Conners was a member of the U.S. Army, with a special distinction. He was one of the very few Mohawk Code Talkers. After the Thomas Indian School had tried to eliminate the language, the United States called on him, and his fellow tribal members to use that language to defeat the German code breakers. It was kept a secret by the Armed Forces and one he took to his grave. He was posthumously awarded a Congressional Medal, along with the other Mohawk warriors who used their language to defeat the Axis powers. Louis Stanley is a hero to all of his descendants.
