Whilst owned by Clan Campbell, it's thought that a MacDonald spy was sent to the castle in 1615 to study its defences while working undercover as a piper. However, his identity was eventually discovered & his hands were chopped off - now destined to wander the castle's halls forever playing his mournful song. πŸ“· traveltwo_ πŸ“ Castle Menzies, Perthshire πŸ‘» This is the ancestral seat of the Clan Menzies & the Menzies Baronets.
