## Caption

“It wasn't the music that was to blame,
it wasn't the breaking news,
it wasn't the scarf on the floor
nor was it the weather.

It was the thorns on the feet,
it was the drops of sweat on the face,
it was the stains on the clothes,
it was the accidental blows,
it was the childhood defeats,
it was the adolescent rejections,
and it was my adult lies."
