Mississippi State is Auburn's second most-face opponent, as the two conference foes have met on the gridiron 96 times. This series first started in 1905 and has seen just about everything that can be thrown its way.⠀⁣

Auburn has worn every uniform color in their history against Miss. State - navy, white, orange, and even green. Auburn wore green in the 1938 and 1939 matchups and wore orange for the majority of other meetings until 1944. Fast forward to 1979, the Tigers broke out the Doug Barfield orange jerseys, the first win for the modern alternate tops.⠀⁣

Mississippi State was a fellow Russell Athletic-outfitted team during the two years before Auburn moved to Under Armour in 2006. The Bulldogs wore Nike uniforms prior and switched to Adidas in 2009. They've worn just about every color combination available, including all-maroon three times since 2008.⠀⁣

Despite sporting alternate uniforms for much of the last decade, Miss. State has yet to wear one against Auburn. State was expected to wear all-black uniforms for the 2020 matchup, but those uniforms were delayed when the game was delayed a few weeks.⁣
