## Caption

When I was injured during my playing career, I was really unprepared for the emotions that followed.

The team keeps moving without you.

Throughout the year, you’re constantly reminded of your importance to the team. Yet, the team moves on without missing a beat.

And it’s not like I wanted anyone to stop. I understood it wasn’t that they didn’t care.

The pressure is so high that everyone on the team needs to focus on adjusting to life without you.

But while I was still in the training room and around the facility, it’s challenging to feel connected to the team when you’re not actively contributing.

The psychological toll of an injury, which often goes unspoken, was something I hadn’t anticipated.

Remember to always check-in on your teammates.
