i’m not going to lie, this book was not it for me. i had such high hopes going into the book but i just felt like the plot was scattered and characters & witchy terms were just thrown in there without any explanation. i wasn’t a fan of the writing style (almost journal entry-like) and i felt like everything that happened was just rushed 🫠

i did enjoy the three spice scenes (very spicy and good) but that wasn’t enough for me to enjoy the whole book.

now for what i DID enjoy: GIL. CONNELLY. who doesn’t love a 6’4” tall, brooding, wants to protect and save his family man?! the way that Gil fell for Tilda was so sweet and i really enjoyed his character growth throughout the book. 

tropes: enemies to lovers, family oriented, found family, slow burn
