Sung Kang is best known for playing Han in the Fast and Furious franchise and is a car enthusiast himself.

Initial D, the Japanese manga live action, will be Kang's third project as a director.

"It's about cars and drifting and cool things like that. Almost a Rocky or Karate Kid. A fun, big-budget movie that expresses my love affair for cars," Kang tells South China Morning Post.
