With Halloween just around the corner, it's important to stay safe while enjoying all the festivities. Ellen Walston, Injury Prevention Program Coordinator at ECU Health, shared helpful tips to ensure you and your family have a spook-tacular and safe weekend! 🎃🍬
 
Walston elaborated on why children should know how to navigate crosswalks. Parents and children must be more alert as it becomes darker outside while trick-or-treating.
 
“If you’re at the crosswalk, at a sidewalk getting ready to cross, please make sure that you’re trying to make eye contact with the driver so they can see you. And it’s night and dark so a lot of times that is difficult. That’s where I’m encouraging drivers to be very cautious and to please so down in neighborhoods,” said Walston.
