We are still basking in the excitement and reminiscing about the launch of our 50th well at the Thimbi Primary School in Malawi several weeks ago! 🎉

Aside from the great numeric milestone, it also signals an increased focus for us on addressing the critical link between clean water and education in our partner communities. 📚💧

Without access to clean water, students are not able to get the most out of their education. ❌

Unclean, inconsistent, and inaccessible water sources lead to increased water-borne disease which directly affects attendance and students’ ability to concentrate in class. Also, more time sourcing water from faraway water sources means less time studying at home and in the classroom. Lastly, sharing scarce water sources between schools and surrounding communities can lead to conflicts and disruptions to education. 🙁

On the other hand, a clean water source means healthier students, more productive families, increased ability to afford school fees, and a long-term improvement in education and economic development in impoverished communities for generations to come. 🌊

We are so proud to be able to transform schools in Burkina Faso and Malawi like Thimbi with deep-water wells. We can’t wait to share more updates on similar projects where we are addressing the challenges of clean water and education holistically. ⭕️ 

Once a students’ right to access clean water is ensured, their education becomes even more powerful! 🙌
