"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses." Ephesians 1:7

The bad news is that we are guilty, and we don't just deserve a parking ticket. The proper and just wages of our sin is death, eternal separation from God.

But the GOOD NEWS is that Christ took our blame and our guilt and our sin upon himself. We have been redeemed through Christ.
