We’re thrilled to celebrate First-Gen Month and National First-Generation College Celebration Day with a special #FacesofWashU series that shines a spotlight on the incredible stories and achievements of our first-gen leaders, faculty, and students.

Meet the extraordinary Chantal Ogbeifun of #WashU27!

She’s not only bilingual but also earned the Seal of Biliteracy in the Croatian language, showcasing her exceptional language skills.

Chantal’s father, Alison, is a talented robotic engineer from Nigeria, and her mom, Dina, is a dedicated daycare supervisor. Their journey brought them together in Germany, where they built a life for their family.

Her path to WashU was guided by her strong interest in making a positive impact on the world. She’s a Danforth Scholar, a member of mock trial, and the International Relations Council. She chose WashU for its supportive community and culture of collaboration.

She is a Political Science and Computer Science major with a minor in International Business, on the pre-law track due to her passion for law, quantitative analysis, and global commerce. Her dedication to creating a positive impact within her community serves as an inspiring lesson for us all.
