Athlete spotlight: Cassie Hickey of the Denver Disruptors

Born and raised in Colorado, she grew up racing draft legal triathlon from a very young age. By the time she was 16, she had earned 21 national titles and was a multi-time world team member. 

At 17, she faced an injury that caused her to shift her focus to cycling, both road and cyclocross. 

Now, at 20, she is on the national team for both of these disciplines and competes at the elite level. 

When she's not cycling, she's working towards her degree at CMU, spending time outside, and spending time with family. 

One cause that she strongly supports is childhood cancer awareness, as her little brother is a childhood cancer survivor.
