As many of you know, I am the host of TSNs new series Breaking Down Barriers- a 12-part series currently airing that features individuals and organizations dedicated to transforming hockey culture. And today I am asking YOU to take action and help out my friend Johnathon from seasidehockeyclub !

In the recent episode, the spotlight was on Kirk Brooks and the Seaside Hockey program, highlighting his commitment to providing underprivileged children with access to the sport and fostering greater inclusion of kids from the BIPOC community in hockey. Notable NHL figures, such as PK Subban and Wayne Simmonds, have emerged from Kirk’s program.

One segment of the episode featured Annalee and her son Jonathon, who demonstrate unwavering dedication to hockey, including taking three buses just to get to practice. To say that Jonathon’s charisma and determination charmed the audience would be an understatement.

However, since the episode’s filming, our production team has learned of two significant developments. Firstly, Jonathon has progressed to playing rep hockey—a testament to his dedication and skill. Regrettably, the second development is that Annalee and Jonathon have encountered even harder times, losing their home and currently residing in a shelter.

This fundraiser aims to support Annalee and Jonathon in overcoming their current challenges, providing them with the assistance needed to regain stability and return to a home of their own where Jonathon can continue to thrive.
