Not many people have been part of a great team culture. Odds are you’ve been in an ok culture, maybe a couple good ones. But never an elite culture.

I think that’s a big reason why people are so captivated by Michael Jordan and #TheLastDance documentary. It’s sneakpeek into a fascinating, but foreign way of operating.

It’s not just MJ that fascinates people, but the culture on those teams. It was intense. But it was fun. It was hard. But it was rewarding. There was pressure. But there was purpose.

MJ said it himself, “If you don’t want to play like this, ok. But this is how I’m playing the game and we’re playing as a team. You have a choice.” Elite team performance absolutely requires an elite culture. An elite culture is uncomfortable because it has incredibly high standards, massively high expectations, and intense personal responsibility.

That’s just how it is.
