No Harbaugh, no problem 😤
•
The Michigan Wolverines took down the Penn State Nittany Lions 24-15 in today’s matchup with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh nowhere to be found. 👀
•
Yesterday the Big Ten announced that it would be suspending Harbaugh for the remainder of the regular season amid the ongoing NCAA investigation into the school’s in-person sign-stealing. ‼️
•
In a 13-page letter, Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti stated that the decision to suspend Harbaugh was made because it would allow the team to play out the rest of its season while still providing substantial consequences for violating Big Ten policies. 🏈
•
Even without their head coach, Michigan still dominated the game, rushing for 227 yards and three scores on one of the nation’s best rushing defenses. 💪
•
Senior running back Blake Corum led the charge with 26 carries for 145 yards and two touchdowns. 🔥
•
While the Wolverines fill-in coach Sherrone Moore got the job done today, the school hopes to have Harbaugh back soon. Following yesterday’s Big Ten announcement, the school filed a motion in court seeking to block the head coach’s suspension. 🧑‍⚖️
•
According to Sports Illustrated, Michigan argued that the Big Ten can only impose punishment for NCAA rules violations after “an investigation, due process, findings from a multi-member body, and a right to appeal,” and that Petitti ignored that process by invoking the conference’s sportsmanship policy. 🤔 #thegist
