Cooking is the leading cause of fires and fire-related injuries in Las Vegas and across the nation, and Thanksgiving is a peak day for home cooking fires. 🔥

We want to remind you to take extra precaution so you can enjoy a safe holiday.

Here are some important tips to follow: 🦃

- Only use an approved turkey fryer with four legs and a built-in thermostat to maintain proper oil temperature ✅
- Fry outdoors, away from buildings ✅
- Follow instructions on what size turkey should be used and make sure the turkey is completely thawed and dry ✅

- Never leave the fryer unattended, and wear fry gloves 🚫
- Outside cooking devices used at apartment complexes must be kept at least 10 feet from any building and cannot be used above the first floor 🚫
- Do not leave cooking food unattended in the kitchen 🚫

Thank you in advance to @lasvegasfd firefighters and law enforcement agencies around the valley who will work on Thanksgiving to keep everyone safe. 🚒🚔
