## Caption

I knew one thing about myself with absolute clarity at a young age: I had no interest in being average.
.
So an area of frustration for me coming up as a student-athlete was seeing command & control coaches with huge egos, average records, and no championships.
.
I didn’t get it. It made no sense to me. I just knew I didn’t want to follow it.
.
Now I get it: there’s a HUGE difference between keeping a job and being great at a job.
.
I’m not here to be average.
