New York City Mayor Eric Adams is defending himself as he faces an investigation by the FBI into whether his campaign accepted illegal donations from a foreign government. Adams went before cameras Tuesday, admitting to reaching out to the commissioner of the New York City Fire Department about a Turkish consulate but saying "this is what elected officials do."
