lifeisbeautiful celebrated its 10th annual festival in the colorful city of Las Vegas in late September. During the three-day weekend period, tens of thousands gathered through the city blocks of Downtown Las Vegas to listen to acts including Kendrick Lamar, Odesza, The Killers, Amber Mark, and Reneé Rapp. Many artists performed at the Downtown main stage and the smaller Rolling Stone stage, which were powered by #MeyerSound systems consisting of both the PANTHER large-format linear line array and 2100-LFC low-frequency control element, provided by solotech_inc.

During the festival, we had the chance to check in with FOH Engineer Tim Hibbert, who was mixing on Saturday for rising star Reneé Rapp on the Rolling Stone Stage. “One out of many things I liked about the PANTHER rig was the imaging,” says Hibbert. “To start with, I don’t like really loud concerts. I don’t like to leave any venue with my ears ringing. So for me, it’s great if the system really lets me work with imaging using panning, delays and reverbs. PANTHER allowed me to easily achieve that without over EQ’ing my system EQ.” He also mentioned that the system let him really hear his low-end definition. “The PANTHERs coupled with the 2100-LFCs are great. It’s punchy, and it gives that without being overbearing, especially with Reneé’s music. Her music is really dynamic with a vast genre range. It goes from pop to rock with a little bit of hip-hop/R&B sprinkled in, but it still has to be vocally present. To me, PANTHER has checked all the boxes.”
