100 units. ➡️ That’s how much blood Richard Alport has donated over the past 28 years.

His commitment to rolling up a sleeve and giving blood was driven by two personal encounters: First, when his wife, Stephanie, suffered from blood loss due to ulcerative colitis, and then when his father-in-law was diagnosed with a rare disorder that affects the body’s ability to make enough healthy blood cells.

While Richard’s father-in-law sadly passed away in 2017, his passing prompted Richard’s family to establish an annual blood drive with RedCrossMO in his memory. For the past six years, they’ve recruited hundreds of donors to give for hospital patients in need. ❤️
