"You know those days?

The days when you are walking around feeling like a giant fresh wound—sensitive to even the slightest breeze.

The days when you avoid eye contact with everyone so you don’t risk falling apart—because someone really seeing you could unravel the final thread that is holding you together.

The days when the messages that didn’t make it to you are louder than any messages that did.

The days when you feel like you are living in a scene from a movie—one where the main character stands frozen while everyone swirls around them living their best lives.

The days when it seems like you are either forgotten or deliberately cast aside because you aren’t good enough or fun enough or committed enough—or maybe because you are just too much.

The days when all you want to do is crawl back into the safety of your bed, pull the covers over your head, and cry for all the pieces of your heart that are broken.

The days when you realize some relationships are so fragile that there is no room for mistakes.

The days when that voice inside your head is shouting at the top of her lungs—convincing you that all your biggest fears about yourself are 100% true.

The days when strangers make sure to tell you what they think of you—but only the criticisms and harsh judgments are the words you can hear.

Those days come for all of us at some point.

And, if you are like me, you've either had one of those days recently or are in the midst of one of those days right now.

Although it can feel heavy and scary and overwhelming when those days hit us, it's so important to remember that those days are temporary.

When we realize today is one of those days, we need to dig deep and hold on to hope that tomorrow might be a little less painful.

And, when all else fails, maybe those days are good days to try to spread some light in the world.

Because at some point, we all have those days and at some point, we all can benefit from some light."
