Deputy Larry Godwin jumped into action in one of Charlotte’s busiest intersections to help save a driver’s life. On Monday November 1, 2021, Deputy Godwin along with a CMPD Officer responded to a crash near Eastway Drive and The Plaza. One of the drivers involved was an elderly woman who was unresponsive behind the wheel. Deputy Godwin helped to quickly remove the driver from her car and began CPR until Charlotte Fire and paramedics arrived. Thanks to his swift response, unique skill and collaboration, Deputy Godwin was able to demonstrate the life-saving measures law enforcement officers perform each day.
