About 75% of Multnomah County librarians, clerks and employees who work with the public feel unsafe on the job and don’t trust executive leaders to take their concerns – including incidents of violence – seriously, according to an audit of the Multnomah County Library published Thursday. Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson acknowledged “the real and serious concerns” aired by library employees in the report. “The library and its county partners are taking action,” Vega Pederson wrote in response to the audit.
