If you like dried fruits and nuts these Old Fashioned Sugar Plums are for you. So easy and fun to make with kids. Take a bite and you will taste all the Holiday flavors. Enjoy!
Yields 10-12
Ingredients
1/2 cup prunes
1/2 cup dried figs
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1 cup pecans or walnuts
1/4 tsp all spice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 cup honey
1 cup Sweetened shredded coconut to roll them or crystal sugar
Start by toasting the pecans in medium heat for a few minutes. You can use the oven to toast the pecans at 400F for 5 minutes.
In a food processor add the pecans and all the rest of the ingredients. Pulse to chop all the dried fruits and nuts until they become little pieces.
Open the lid and pour the honey. Continue to pulse until a dough forms.
Line a tray with parchment paper. Scoop the mixture into 1” balls and roll them on your hands. Place them on the tray.
Roll the sugar plums into shredded coconut. You can store them on the fridge for a week.
