Penn State has reportedly honed in on its next defensive coordinator.
The Nittany Lions are targeting former Indiana head coach Tom Allen, who was fired by the team following a 3-9 campaign, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Allen spent the previous seven seasons at the helm for the Hoosiers (plus a bowl game in 2016) before the school opted to pay the $15.5 million buyout and move on. He finished his head coaching stint in Bloomington with a 33-49 record, but was just 9-26 in his final three seasons there.
