HUGE Congratulations to the UC Santa Cruz Cross Country Teams on an incredible season. At the 2023 Cross Country Awards Ceremony the Banana Slugs had a lot to celebrate. Both Programs swept the C2C Conference Championships for the 3rd Consecutive Year. The Men’s team had its 7th top 5 Finish at the NCAA West Regionals. The Women’s Team qualified for the NCAA National Championships for the second consecutive year. Riley Martel-Phillips, Sofia Placias, and Nick Sciole received the Coaches Award based on their contributions to the program. Camden Hebert and Frieda Cedillo received the Teammate Award, voted on by the team, for enhancing the team’s experience. Camden Jaureguy and Elena Stanciu earned Newcomer Awards based on their contributions as freshmen. Helena Janku received the Tamara Torlakson Most Valuable Runner Award after winning the C2C Conference Championships, a top 10 finish at the NCAA West Regional Championship, and leading the Banana Slugs at the NCAA National Championships...
