Let’s wish a happy 83rd birthday to JSU alum and National College Baseball Hall of Fame inductee – Robert "Bob" Braddy, Sr.! During his playing days at Jackson State, Braddy was an All-Conference pitcher. He returned to the university in 1973 as the head baseball coach and would coach the Tigers to 824 wins – the most in Tigers and SWAC history. His teams also won 12 conference championships — the most in league history. Braddy finished coaching in 2001, and he later became the Tigers' athletic director. JSU named the baseball field after him in 2009 in honor of his 34 years in service. Read more about Bob Braddy in his Jackson Free Press Person of the Day feature from 2016.
