I think only a big bowl of pasta can warm me up today. Perfectly al dente pasta coated in a Creamy Spicy Italian Sausage and Red Pepper sauce is the comfort that I’m looking for. Stay warm! Enjoy!
Italian sausage and red pepper pasta!
Servings 8
Ingredients
1 lb mild italian sausage
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion sliced
2-3 cloves of garlic sliced
1 12 oz jar roasted red peppers
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup marsala wine or white wine
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and black pepper to taste
Pinch of Chili flakes
1 package of paccheri pasta
Instructions
Cook pasta according to the package directions for al dente. Drain. Reserve one cup of the starching cooking water.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat with olive oil. Add the sausage to your heated skillet, breaking it up with your spoon. Cook 5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove sausage from the skillet.
