I was talking to a client yesterday about how to walk the line between having sharp photos and having a feed that looks like one big stock image gallery.
When you’re just starting out, creating an imagery database for your business can be hard. Good photography is way more expensive than you’d think (mostly because people don’t get how much work goes into every image), and not everyone is as photo-savvy as a Gen Z Instagram influencer. So how do you get started?
First: try to find out-of-the-way stock photo sites. Stock photos aren’t bad, but you don’t want to overdo it. If you spend the extra time looking for a site that’s maybe 5 pages into your Google search instead of the first hit, you’re more likely to find images that aren’t on every brand website in your field.
Then ask for help! Seriously, if you have a product or service you believe in, and if it’s a pretty/exciting service, put a call out to your followers to see if they want to submit their own photos. Make a post on you...
