Through Penn State’s School of Theatre, students have the opportunity to pave their own paths to success — including starring in the remake of “Mean Girls.” Alumnus John El-Jor, who played Jason Weems in the 2024 remake of “Mean Girls,” said Penn State’s School of Theatre was part of the journey in making his film debut. El-Jor, a 2022 Penn State graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre, grew up as a pianist, but after experimenting with music, learned his true passion was theater.
