Last month 2 journalists pitched me onto a panel for a big event happening in London.
I haven’t really promoted the fact that I’m open to speaking opportunities this year as I’ve had my head growing my Media Mastermind, The Parlour.
But when I heard about the panel and saw that my journalist friends were on it and I knew the moderator (and loved her energy)…I was like…I want my butt on that panel chair!!!
I want in!
Instead of pitching to the host of the event who I already knew but didn’t have a deep relationship with yet, I asked my journalist friends to put in a good word.
And 48 hours later I was in!
That’s what happens when you build and nurture relationships with the journalists in your business.
Invitations replace pitching.
And everything feels easier.
You get what you want.
You don’t need to sit there with some random list and pitch for a million speaking engagements.
Journalists will pitch for you.
