Photo by Dan Winters danwintersphoto | The 322-foot-tall Artemis I Orion spacecraft sits in the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida, just prior to rolling out to the pad. Its uncrewed launch was planned to take place August 29 at KSC's Launch Complex 39B, used 53 years ago to launch Apollo 10. However, due to an engine issue on the rocket, the launch has been postponed. NASA is evaluating the problem to see if they can try again as soon as September 2. Once launched, it will circle the moon on a roughly 40-day mission. Artemis I, the most powerful rocket ever built, delivers 8.8 million pounds of thrust and will ultimately serve as the vehicle that will once again deliver astronauts to the moon.
