On my trips to Tanzania, we enjoyed seeing the amazing mammal fauna, but the potential for bird photography on a wildlife safari is often underappreciated. These shots show the colorful diversity of Serengeti birdlife—featured in my upcoming book, "Bird Planet"—here in the form of the lilac-breasted roller and red-and-yellow barbets on a termite mound.
