Photo lucalocatelliphoto / Partnered with Climeworks, a carbon-capture company, this adjacent greenhouse in Hinwil, Switzerland, uses CO2 as fertilizer for its fruits and vegetables. Removing CO2 from the air is part of the pledge to reach “net zero” emissions by 2050. At the 26th UN Climate Change conference (COP26) this November, governments will outline steps they each need to take to limit global warming. Carbon-capture technology is one of the options on the table. Visualizing solutions for the future has been the driving theme of my photography for more than a decade.
