Cheetahs now inhabit just a tiny fraction of their former range, with only around 7,000 individuals left in the wild. And time is rapidly running out for us to reverse this tragic decline. Doing so means not only preserving the protected areas where these spotted cats can roam safely but also finding ways to safeguard the populations that cling to survival outside these protected landscapes—estimates suggest around two-thirds of the global cheetah population is found there. To succeed, we need to work together to tackle the complex and increasingly urgent challenge of human-wildlife conflict. #cheetah #bigcats #bigcatconservation
