What’s up for August? Don’t miss the Perseid Meteor Shower, which peaks this month at 1 p.m. EDT on August 12. That means the nights before and after (August 11 -12) will produce good rates from midnight to dawn.
The Moon rises at around midnight local time, which will cut the expected meteor rate in half this year to about 25 – 50 meteors per hour at the peak, in a very dark sky. Watch for more!
