Luke Peinado started skating on a team at age 5. When we say skating, we mean it literally. He loved to skate but stopping that was another story. He was always a go-getter and wanted to be in the middle of the action. If he saw a pile of kids around the puck, he would skate his fastest towards the mass, but not knowing how to stop, he would barrel into the pile like a bowling ball, sometime skates first and sometimes head first. When the pile would clear and move on, he would get up, find the puck again and barrel towards it again. This continued until he learned how to stop. Some things change with time, he now knows how to stop, but he still loves to go after the puck and never shies away from a puck in the corner. The Deaflympics are an amazing experience for our athletes.
