“I started teaching at Lafayette in January of 2008. I like teaching because I enjoy seeing students explore things or ideas that they are passionate about and seeing them improve in their writing abilities and their thinking. I chose [to teach] language arts because it was the subject I enjoyed most when I was a student. Reading and writing were always things that I liked to do. I had really good high school English teachers that really made books interesting. Outside of school, I spend a lot of time with my friends from college. We go out to dinner once a month or we just try different activities. My husband and I, we like to hike and camp. We spend a lot of time watching sports.
