Clothing is much more than a way to cover ourselves up. For many, the way they dress is a tool for expressing different parts of themselves. Various combinations of fabrics and colors can speak to each person’s individual personalities. . Some creatives take this ideology to another level — using clothing as a medium for their art. One such artist is Kate Schmidt, a Ph.D. student in the Education department at CSU. . Schmidt carefully designed and crafted an exhibition named Girl Powder at Colorado State University’s Avenue Museum of Design and Merchandising. Her designs are dedicated to “embracing athleticism and functionality while holding femininity at the crux,” according to visitfortcollins.com. Her exhibit showcased 11 complete snow sport looks that took shape after completing qualitative research about women’s preferences in outdoor apparel. . Read more on our website! Link in bio! .
