Have boundaries. It’s perhaps the most important takeaway I’ve had from this pandemic. When the world shutdown I was forced into limited space, limited activity and limited company. It became about me and... well me.

The first few hours of the morning have become my sacred hours. I start my day here. I sort out my head here. I drink my coffee here. I breath deeply here. I zone out to my music here. The mornings are mine.

Time became very valuable, in the sense of the pace. Meaning, how empty or full was my time?

When the world shutdown and I slowed down, I was able to compare two versions of myself - the busy me, and the not so busy me. It was night and day in terms of my mental health, mood, attitude, sleep and physical health.

I realized that I needed the slow. I needed my mornings. I needed the not-so-full schedule. I needed the room to breathe. I needed the space to be mindful with my moments - not blow through them just to “get things done today.”
