When I work on creative projects, often my creativity is rooted in the inspiration i’ve absorbed from outside sources, cinematic techniques i’ve seen, music I’ve heard, even people who’s personalities have had an influence on my own. And without these influences, I’d just be floating in zero gravity with nothing to grab onto. The greatest painters in history weren’t the greatest because they were born that way - they were the greatest because they painted a lot. You gotta let go of the idea that you have to be “original” to be creative. Originality is the accumulation of all your life experiences leading you to this moment. That’s it.
