📷 + 💭: lizziedalywild This is Europe’s largest #eagle with an 8ft wingspan! 3 of these excellent fishers were snatching herring off the surface of the water from feeding Humpback whales in Norway 🇳🇴🐋 This shot was captured while the eagle was actually flying backwards to grab a missed herring from the surface. White-tailed eagles are an important flagship species in coastal #ecosystems and although they’re currently a missing part of the UK’s native biodiversity due to persecution they are successfully being reintroduced using healthy populations of Norwegian eagles to do so. #wildlife
