A Tibetan monk from the Drepung Gomang Monastery in India carefully draws out designs as part of a sand mandala in the DePaulU Student Center. A group of eight monks touring the United States for one year stop at DePaul for one week, visualizing impermanence by creating and destroying the mandala. The whole process takes about five days with a destruction ritual when the mandala is complete. The monks deposited the sand in the reflection pond outside of the Vincentian Residence in Lincoln Park.
