For our #BacktoSchool 🍎📚 feature today, we’re highlighting Deputies Ismael Rubalcava and Jonathan Schnereger. They are both School Resource Officers who support Fillmore High School and Fillmore Middle School. Between them, they have 26 years’ experience working with VCSO. Deputies Rubalcava and Schnereger support school staff by helping design drop-off and pick-up areas, assisting when disciplinary issues arise, and work with counselors and office staff in connecting with students who aren’t showing up to school. “My favorite part of being an SRO is interacting, mentoring and establishing a good relationship between peace officers and the students,” says Dep. Rubalcava. “Having the kids back on campus and being able to interact with them more is what I’m looking forward to most,” shares Dep. Schnereger.
