Not your average view of the McCarthy Quad...Darren Ruddell of spatial sciences and colleagues used a Public Lab balloon mapping kit along with a GoPro camera with infrared lens to take this aerial image. Students in his Fall class "SSCI-301: Maps and Spatial Reasoning" will use the same technology to stitch aerial images together to make a large mosaic of the landscape.
